Gaming mouse

Gaming mouse

Postby thabullet on Sat Oct 03, 2009 2:31 pm

I've been using a cheapy Logitech laser mouse for the past yr now which finally crapped out on me today in the PL match. I'm guessing it's burnt out since although I can still use it, it lags a LOT... so it's time for a new one, any suggestions? I've tried the MX516 beore and liked it so if nothing else is out that I should look at I'll proby just go back to that one. How are the Razors, anyone using one?

I've been using a Razer Diamondback for a few years, I really like the feel of it. It's kind of flat with pretty large buttons which is exactly what I like. I don't like how high a lot of "gaming" mice sit in your hand if that makes any sense to you.

I currently use a Logitech MX518 (up to 1800 dpi) but I will be getting a new mouse as well. I'm really interested in trying out something like the Razer Mamba Wireless (a shit load 5600 dpi).

See I've heard a lot of great things about the Razor line. Think I may try it - they sell them at Best Buy so I may take a ride by there tomorrow and check them out. Only bad thing I've heard bout them is that they are too small. Coming off a Logitech that's bulky may cause a problem but I've never tried it before

I personally don't feel like they're small and I'm 6' with med/large hands, they just sit pretty low in your hand so you don't have to curl up your hand to push the buttons. That's exactly why I like them to me it's a natural grip. I can understand why a lot of people like the logitech line they're well made, I think it' depends on what your natural grip is. Go try them out at the store and if it's not totally uncomfortable buy one and give it a couple weeks trial, you can always return it.

if you want a Logitech G5 I'll send it for cheap. Barely used it because I bought the G9 right when it came out.

shrug, $20 + shipping and it's yours

I bought a Steel Series gaming mouse...in Thailand the model is called the Xai...and it quite possibly is one of the best feeling mice I have ever used. I had the G9 and played with thing...it was cool and all...but the whole interchangeable weight dealio??? Come the fuck on...I'm a man of simplicity...toying with the weights just fucked up the feeling...so i used no weights and plus the drawer gets stuck when i try to take the weights out. Anyways when I bought the Steel Series mouse I thought to myself WTF is this shit...never heard of the brand because I'm not a fucking game dwelling butt-gnome like i was when I played FC...simply put without all the FPS issues and lag and rates...that one easily of of the best conceptual games for game play still to this day. But I'm going off on a tangent...

back to my point...Steel Series Xai has great feel, is ambidextrous, and has a killer engine and software to tweak the feel from many different aspects...unlike Logitech software, which I went back to check out and it was like cheese and crackers. I'm not begging you guys to go out and buy one...but if your in the market right now...it's really worth checking out.

Steel Series - Xai ....bitches.

You still liking this thing dude? I took a look. Turns out this is the same company that made the zboard a few years ago. Now they call them the Steel Series and do mice. I had the first zboard and it was pretty sweet. Think I may swing by Best Buy tomorrow and grab one of these.

Peep it out man...I like it way better than any Logitech G series. It's like a better version of the Logitech mx518 but feels better and less hand fatiguing...also if your ambidextrous you won't have any problem. The weight of it is perfect, and the software it comes with is badass...you can really tune it to precision. I'm really picky about anything I buy, and I will admit I was super skeptical about this mouse. I remember the Z-pad just didn't know it was made by them. I know that they're a company that makes products for gamers by gamers. So it's got a great little engine with like a billion dpi, steel melting laser optics, and it even has a vibrate mode to massage your balls...no not really. But I wish it did cuz I guess I'm a homo like that.

But, I was in Thailand and they didn't have Razers or and Logitech gaming mice. So I decided to try it since it was much needed compared to the shitty Acer my girlfriend had. The construction and quality of it is great. I think they sell them at Best Buy...but I've only seen this one that looks like a friggin Star Trek tazer.

I'm a man of simplicity and this model I have called the Xai is the bomb. You may need to mail order it if you want that one in particular. But I highly recommend it. Let me know what you think if you decide to buy one, and if you hate it...I'll send you my Logitech G9 for free. I hate that POS.
